Sometimes the totality of local reporting can create some confusion...this is a perfect example: Charlottesville City Council intends to fund new violence prevention program Peace in the Streets. Let me explain.

In response to gun violence in Charlottesville two grassroots violence prevention programs emerged, one was being called the B.U.C.K Squad and one was being called Sit Downs Before Shootouts: Peace in the Streets. Charlottesville Tomorrow attempted to write about both groups but made the unusual decision to scrap that article and present two separate articles about each group [B.U.C.K Squad here. SDBS: Peace in the Streets here.] after Sit Downs Before Shootouts: Peace in the Streets “requested that their information not be included in a story with the B.U.C.K Squad,” according to CT.
