An interesting event is taking place at The Haven this Wednesday for Ash Wednesday. Isaac Wardell, the music director at Trinity Church and Bifrost Arts, has been coordinating with a number of other area churches (protestant, catholic, black, white, chinese) to put together a joint service for Ash Wednesday modeled after something called a "Taize" service. Taize services originate from a small multicultural monastery in the Burgundy region of France (see photo left). Check out the video below to learn more.

"These are beautiful candlelit events with a choir and small orchestra, and they're admired worldwide for their beauty and simplicity," says Wardell. " If it takes off, I'm hopeful that this might become an annual event or something we do seasonally."

Again, the service is on Wednesday night, March 5, at 7pm at The Haven Sanctuary.
