Men charged in Mall assault file charges against alleged victims
The two men charged with assault in a December 20 altercation that gained national attention for the way it was originally portrayed as a random, unprovoked "knock out" game style attack by the alleged victims, have filed assault charges against the alleged victims, according to court records. Malcolm Stevenson has filed a complaint against Marc Adams for misdemeanor assault, and Richard Spears has filed an identical complaint against Jeanne Doucette. A hearing is set for Doucette on January 30 at 10am in Charlottesville General District Court. A hearing for Adams is scheduled on January 31 at 10:35am. In an interview with the DTM, Stevenson and Spears claimed that Adams and Doucette initiated and provoked the confrontation. Stay tuned for updates.
