Gun violence. Again, it's the guns.
“This is a sad situation,” said Charlottesville Police Chief Michael Kochis. “It feels like a broken record sometimes, continuing to talk about the same story.”
Just a half-hour into the new year a 19-year-old young man was shot in the leg near the Brookdale Apartment complex in Albemarle County, which was followed by reported shootings near Stribling Avenue (January 12) and Amtrak parking lots on West Main (January 18) that resulted in no reported injuries. However, Jahaanz Wilson, 22, became the year’s first casualty on January 26, dying in the hospital after being shot in the Water Street Parking Lot at around 3:00 am.
