Charlottesville becomes second Virginia locality to adopt ranked-choice voting
Despite serious objections from one Councilor, the majority votes to approve historic election reform. Plus, Albemarle Election Board tries to sink RCV.
Last night Charlottesville City Council voted 4-1 to approve the use of ranked-choice voting (RCV) for the June 2025 City Council primary election, making Charlottesville only the second Virginia locality to do so.
